Welcome to the trade union Photographers e-mail discussion list. It has been set up to allow trade union photographers/visualJournalists an e-mail list within which they can discuss matters pertaining to their profession, specifically with regard to the Union. The proposed 'Photographers Organiser' debate at the Annual Delegate Conference of the National Union of Journalists in Scarborough in April 2005 is now long gone. Hopefully this list will continue as a way of photographers continuing to talk to each other. There are many other more established lists that photographers belong to, and it is intended that this list will not replace any of them, but rather allow an extra forum in which specific Union matters can be discussed without offending non-union colleagues. This does not mean that only union matters can be discussed. The rules will develop as the list grows, and although very informal we do have a set of rules. We ask that in that all list members use courtesy in their interactions with each other, and deal with eachother, as they would be done by. The List is run by members of the National Union of Journalists and contributors are reminded that everyone here is a union member. Please ensure that there are no homophobic, sexist, or abusive remarks made on list - thank you (The moderators)
